New parking technology

Intelligent parking systems are here. Small devices set in parking spaces and streets that know when cars are parked over them and when they’re not. Streetline, a company that specializes in intelligent parking systems has created a wireless network of sensors and computers that can help a motorist know when there is an empty space available and where it is.

Another benefit of the system is to gauge when parking demand is at his highest and this information is important to cities. These systems are already in place in several cities across the nation.

There is a mobile phone app, Parker, which helps direct drivers to parking spaces. The app also allows drivers to re-up their meters.

This can help drivers save time and gas.
