21 simple ideas

Klaus Philipsen, a community architect in Baltimore, has shared 21 relatively simple ideas to improve pedestrian safety.

“Many residents in cities like Baltimore need to learn how to walk again, and with it the whole culture of street vendors and urban retail has to be rediscovered.  That is what smart growth, healthy cities and sustainability is about.”

I think eliminating the right on red would be a good thing for pedestrian safety although I know drivers won’t like it. But I have been guilty of making those right hand turns and not seeing a pedestrian entering the crosswalk. Your thoughts?
