The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was able to estimate the economic loss and human suffering caused by traffic crashes.
It’s a staggering amount – more than 800 billion in one year!

How can we reduce these costs and make it safer to get around? Street design is critical. We should all pay close attention when there are any planned “improvements” to streets. The Rt. 281 expansion comes to mind.
