Will people retire here?

What can Cortland do to encourage people to stay here during their retirement years? Well, one important factor that is often overlooked is transportation. And that would include decent taxi services, public transit and sidewalks – all those elements that allow an older person who no longer can drive a way to get around. Having a good transportation network would encourage residents to stay put or might even encourage outsiders to move here in retirement.

Not everyone is looking to move to Florida.

And if you are, then make sure that where you are moving will be able to accommodate you when you can no longer drive. As people live longer, that day will probably come.
