The Cortland County Legislature last night passed a resolution concerning Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation.

Here it is in part:
“RESOLVED, that the Cortland County Legislature calls upon our state representative to act on behalf of those in need in Cortland County to assist in saving the public transit system by adopting, the NYS Senate Health Article VII budget proposal (§78 of S.6358-C) which would allow counties to opt-out of the mandated brokerage service and allowing local control over non-emergency Medicaid transportation.”

Part of the NY Senate budget proposal (to be decided by April 1) would allow counties the option of opting-out of the Medicaid brokerage system.

Stay tuned.
