Australia has gone solar in a big way.
The city of Adelaide in southern Australia is working on sustainability with plans for extensive pedestrian walkways and bike paths and has even begun using solar buses.
The new Tindo buses (Tindo means sun in the Aboriginal language) are completely electric drawing their power not from overhead lines or from solar panels on the bus. Each bus charges at the central bus station before going out on their route. They can travel about 125 miles before recharging.
Oh, BTW, the entire bus service is available to the public at no charge.
