Ridesharing has gone big time

I guess you might say you’ve made it when the big guns want to take you over.

Enterprise (the car rental company) has recently acquired Zimride (the ridesharing service). It’s the third ridesharing/carsharing service that Enterprise has purchased within the last two years.

Their competitor Avis purchased Zipcar (car sharing service) in January of this year.

According to this story on the Transportation Nation blog an executive at Enterprise stated “We will be able to even further enhance our offerings and provide a total transportation solution to our partners and customers worldwide.”
