Bike/Walk to Work Week starts on May 13. You have 6 weeks to break in a new pair of walking shoes or get your bike tuned-up, and find some teammates. You have 6 weeks to make a plan. Put away those car keys if you can, and if you can’t entirely do that, then plan on parking your car at least a 1/2 mile or 1 mile away from work and hoofing or pedaling the rest of the way. And there’s 6 weeks for the weather to get better.
Do it for yourself, do it for the community, do it for the planet, and if necessary, do it to win some prizes.
After April 8 you can go online to http://www.ccecortland.org to download a registration form for your team. Registrations are to be turned in by May 10. For more information you can call Angela Perry at Cortland Cooperative Extension at 607-753-5077 or email her at email@example.com.
