Major catastrophe

Hurricane Sandy was a major catastrophe for transportation in New York City.

Seven subway tunnels are flooded, stations are flooded, tunnels are flooded.

It was even worse than what the MTA expected.

No one knows how long it will be until transportation is back to normal.

More than 30% of New Yorkers use mass transit to get to work.
