Monday Mile

Syracuse University as part of their Healthy Monday program has started a new campaign to get people moving, according to a story this morning in The Post-Standard.  Monday Mile signs mark nine new walking routes throughout the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County.

“Research shows walking 30 minutes a day, about the same time it takes to walk one mile, can improve health.”

There are routes in the university area and in downtown Syracuse along with “routes in Thornden Park, Burnet Park, Upper Onondaga Park, Onondaga Lake Park, Beaver Lake Nature Center, Highland Forest and Jamesville Beach.”

Did you know that Healthy Now in Cortland County has walking routes for our area on their webpage? Check them out – any day of the week.
