Extended bus service to Homer Senior Center

Starting on March 7 the Route 3 Cortland Transit bus will go through the Homer Town Hall parking lot and stop at the entrance to the Homer Senior Center when asked. It will be considered an unpaid deviation. There will be no additional charge. All a senior needs to do when they get on the Route 3 bus is to tell the bus driver that they need to be taken to the Homer Senior Center at the Town Hall. To get picked up at the Senior Center someone will need to call Cortland Transit at 758-3383 so that the dispatchers can notify the driver to stop at the Senior Center.

We are trying this as an unpaid deviation to gauge the demand.  Route 3 is currently a long route so we are reluctant to stop at the center every 30 minutes. We will see what the demand is and re-evaluate the route if needed in the future.

Please let me know how this is working.
