The future – in Kazakhstan?

So how much do I know about Kazakhstan?

Very little. All I know is that it’s one of those countries that used to be part of Russia and it gained its independence in recent history. What I learned about Kazakhstan from Wikipedia is:

1. It’s the world’s largest landlocked country and is larger than all of Western Europe.

2. It has a population of about 16.6 million people

3. Agriculture is still important but energy is the leading economic sector.

But my perceptions of what life must be like in Kazakhstan is totally blown away when I look at this –
