Smartphones rule

It used to be cars.

But now a survey shows that “46 percent of people 18 to 24 would choose access to the Internet over access to their own car.”

And younger people seem to be losing their enthusiasm for driving.  “In 1978, 50 percent of 16-year-olds in the United States obtained their first driver’s license. In 2008, only 30 percent did.”

Don’t think the auto companies are not paying attention. Cars need to become more like smartphones. Find out some of the ways at this New York Times article.

One day, probably not so far in the future (see earlier posts), a car will be able to drive itself and then there willbe  plenty of time for connecting with friends.
