Where is the worst bridge in Cortland County?

So where is the bridge in Cortland County that needs the most repair according to New York State Department of Transportation data?

It’s a bridge crossing Cheningo Creek on Sprouse Road 4 miles south of Truxton.

“NYSDOT defines a deficient bridge as one with a State condition rating less than 5.0.  A deficient condition rating indicates deterioration at a level that requires corrective maintenance or rehabilitation to restore the bridge to its fully functional, non-deficient condition.  It does not mean that the bridge is unsafe.” (my emphasis)

A story this morning in The Post-Standard highlights the problem of deteriorating bridges across the region.

So what is the rating for the bridge on Sprouse Rd?
