How to save $80

How can you save $80 on a 700 mile round-trip drive?

Check out some of these eco-driving tips presented by the 1-95 Corridor Coalition:

1. Driving 60 mph instead of 70 mph will save you $14.

2. Save $1.25 a gallon if you avoid rapid acceleration, hard braking and speeding.

3. Save $.54 a gallon if you use cruise control.

4. Save $.04 – $.08 a gallon if you remove weight from your trunk.

5. Properly inflated tires can save you $.11 a gallon.

6. Changing your oil will save you $.04 – $.08 a gallon.

7. Tightening your fuel cap will save you 30 gallons of gas a year.

“The purpose of the I-95 Corridor Coalition’s Eco-Driving Campaign is to educate drivers about easy changes they can make to reduce fuel consumption and wear and tear on their vehicles – simultaneously saving money and reducing environmental impacts.”
