Electric Vehicle charging stations coming to CNY

This is exciting news.

The Clean Cities Coalition of Central New York has been instrumental in bringing EV charging stations to Central New York.

“Sponsored by the US Department of Energy (DOE), the Clean Cities program advances the nation’s economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting local decisions to reduce petroleum consumption. The Central New York Clean Cities Coalition is one of 90 local coalitions that develops public/private partnerships to promote alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles and idle reduction awareness.”

In a release on September 5 they announced that in a few weeks there will be 64 charging stations at the following locations:

– Synapse Headquarters on Erie Boulevard in Syracuse.

– Downtown Syracuse Farmers Market lot adjacent to Chase Bank building.

– SUNY ESF Sentenial Hall.

– Westcott St. Public Lot.

– Carousel Center.

– Town Center in Fayetteville.

– City of Rome, NY.

I noticed on their website that there are many governmental bodies that are members of their coalition including Cayuga County, Tompkins County, Chemung County, Schuyler County,  Onondaga County and the cities of Ithaca, Auburn, and Syracuse.  Also colleges such as Syracuse University, SUNY Oswego, and SUNY IT are represented.

But no representation from Cortland. Why not?
